Course Content

Musician in Society is a participatory course in which students reflect on their place as young artists within the contemporary artistic field and society. The course combines artistic self-reflection, portfolio development, professional orientation and project development with practical presentation and working methods.

The guiding principle is to develop a sustainable artistic practice in which students learn to navigate issues of presentation, positioning, collaboration, professional expectations and social contexts.

Learning content that strengthens socio-cultural positioning:

Awareness about terminology and conceptual frameworks of music management
Awareness of financial aspects: grants, sponsorship, contract negotiation, management companies, etc.
Awareness of legal aspects: organisational forms, artists’ status, copyright, etc.
Awareness of communication strategies and tools, including social media

learning content that strengthens communication and reflective skills:

Transferable skills such as writing and presentation skills, use of IT, AI and social media in the context of communication, critical approach to information
Positioning and discussing artistic work within a social and cultural context

The teacher provides guidance on content during lectures and seminars, focusing on social and cultural challenges, critical reflection and practical solutions. Students receive collective feedback on assignments and practice questions, as well as targeted support in preparing for the exam.
