Course Content

-Building up a repertoire in different styles and from different composers from Mozart till now.
-Investigation and study of different styles en ways of expression of playing and singing.
-Learning how to express in different languages with notion of the literal and cultural background.

Course Objectives

- Making the singer and pianist aquainted with the study, rehearsing and performing of the Liedrepertoire.
- Developping the intellectual capacities and the inspiring broadening of the overall cultural hozion through contact with poetry.
- Learning how to construct the subtle rithmical waves of a text , how to think in phrases, in greater units, unique for this vocal Lied repertoire.
- Learning how to interprete the text and use this as inspiration to develop the fantaisy and how to translate this into different ways of attacking the keys.Developping more toucher-possibilities, also in delicate nuances, shortly, learning how to play and sing more refined .
- Uniting music, text, singer and pianist, style and literature to come to a deeper and thorough interpretation of a poem.
- Learning how to think polyphonic: realising the polyphonic structure of the pianopart together with the lien of the voice.
- Following and” feeling” the fysical contact with the singing breath of a singer and translating this in a more cantabile way of playing.
