Course Content

Learning content that strengthens musical skills and understanding / learning content that enhances artistic performance:
• Classification of instruments into families (Mahillon-Sachs, others…)
• Ranges of classical orchestral instruments and transposing instruments
• Discussion of classical orchestral instruments: strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, harp, and their functioning – tone production on horn, trombone (including glissandi), and trumpet
• Natural harmonics and artificial harmonics on string instruments (simple)
