Course Content

- Acquiring the techniques of group singing;
- Developing a good attitude and social skills to achieve a common vision of performance;
- Being able to individually prepare a choral composition, as a singer from the choir, in the choir;
- Developing the ear training to listen to other singers who sing with and around you;
- Constructing and controlling a presented choral repertoire;
- Different forms of making music in smaller and bigger ensembles, depending on the specific repertoire and the place of the performance;
- Knowing and controlling choral techniques: a.o. voice control, intonation, phrasing, creating a relaxed voice, use proper breathing and posture technique to get the most out of the choir experience;
- Working towards stage performance;
- Preparing the concert performance(s) by rehearsing once a week from October until March.

Course Objectives

- Practicing music by polyphonic choral singing in a classical choir;
- Active group singing participation in a four-part mixed choir;
- Artistic development of the expression and the personality;
- Improving the singing voice and boosting the happiness and healthiness through choir singing;
- Participation in vocal concert performance(s) regarding a.o. music analytical, music theoretical and vocal-technical guidelines;
- Learning to situate the ensemble-oriented choral thinking with special attention to group agreements concerning a.o. performance practice, knowledge of the score and awareness of the rehearsal schedule and rehearsal progress.
