Course Content

1. Concept of "Short-Long": The assimilation of the subdivision of any time signature and any possible combination of "short-long"; with practical exercises for integrating this concept into any form of musical-rhythmic improvisation.
2.Rhythmic Consciousness: Understanding rhythm as a combination of subdivision and note grouping. The Indian concepts of ";Gatis"; and ";Chans"; are used for this purpose. Practical exercises to integrate this concept include defining the subdivision of the beat and using specific note groupings within the chosen subdivisions. This is in order to promote rhythmic awareness and the integration of extreme rhythmic precision in performance.
3. Odd time signatures: A specific approach to learning to deal with odd time signatures. This method allows for the development of different views on this. Through practical exercises, the student will strive for a fluent and natural performance practice, both in reading and in improvised situations.
4. Polyrhythms: Analysis and practical exercises on polyrhythms, focusing on the principle of cycles, movement and differentiation. These poly-rhythmic figures are used as a basis for simulating different speeds within a basic tempo.
