Course Content

All on minor level 1:
- Development of insight into melody, harmony, rhythm, form and counterpoint by study and application. - In-depth analysis of existing jazz scores from various stylistic eras.
- Heurism of jazz: in-depth study of authentic jazz recordings through analysis and performance.

Course Objectives

All on minor level 1 (preparation for extra studies in the realm of jazz composing).

- Motivation for the development of a personal style in order to apply the already mastered stylistic knowledge for compositional purposes and with a focus on performance and/or recording
- The students have the correct skills, flexibility and knowledge to adapt themselves to a professional music career.
