(e.g. knowledge of one's own repertoire and the ‘state of the arts’; knowledge of current orchestral practices, contextual knowledge (historical and contemporary perspective), research skills, knowledge of various musical styles and frameworks, research skills; study methods; repertoire building; mental preparation; embodiment; body control, mastery of musical notation or instrumental technique or coordination; knowledge of solfège aspects; creativity in interpretation, relaxation exercises; reflection; narrative performance, etc.)

  • Analysis of selected works from the broad repertoire, in line with the artistic and technical needs of the student at each stage of their development

Course Objectives

All on minor level 1 (preparation for extra studies in the realm of jazz composing).

The student has a progressive command of the knowledge and skills required for the chosen musical specialisation through methodical conceptual frameworks/artistic and scientific sources/exercises and/or musical examples from the relevant repertoire (LO1-5) appropriate to the level of the programme.

The student demonstrates, in an individual context and in a progressive manner, artistic and practical thinking frameworks and craftsmanship based on relevant scientific and artistic sources and/or practical examples, which can be applied in the context of a sustainable artistic presentation/performance (LO6-10).

Under supervision, the student constructs a fully-fledged artistic product based on an authentic and well-founded artistic vision and communicates about it efficiently. He/she reflects on his/her own work in relation to the music world and the broader socio-cultural context from a critical-artistic perspective and with a view to lifelong professional growth (LO 11-14).
