- Study of the notation of the various parameters of the composition (melody, harmony, rhythm, dynamics, structure and timbre, ...
- Research into the most important notation styles within the recent historical repertoire
of publications by the composers concerned
- Research on scores by Strawinsky, Bartok, Berg, Dutilleux, Schoenberg, Webern, Strauss, Messiaen, Lutoslawsky, Ligeti, Goeyvaerts, Stockhauszen, Rihm ...
- Build up a personal musical language and study its notation consequences
