Course Content

The student works under supervision on a personal, individual first case concerning the macro level of our professional world: the landscape (landscape level 1).

In this first landscape assignment the student will analyse and design a self-chosen walking area, during 3 phases:
- Phase 1 : Designing a walking route
- Phase 2 : Observing and experiencing the landscape. o Experiencing the unique experience of the landscape. o Recognising and representing the characteristics of a landscape.
- Phase 3 : Impressive design based on the following aspects: o Shape, rhythm and variety o Experience and character of the landscape o Movement in the landscape o Activities in the landscape.


Theoretical knowledge of the landscape walk as support and process for the landscape project:
- Visual-spatial analysis of the landscape walk, representation of the experience.
- Impression-increasing design

Course Objectives

The student:
- is able to develop under supervision vision simple assignments in which the perception, experience and creative response to the landscape are central
- is able to follow a process-driven individual project
- is able to develop an interesting landscape walk and experiences the unique experience
- is able to observe the generally observable landscape-forming elements
- is able to analyze, process and present the principles of perception
- is able to draw by hand the essence of the spatial structures
- is able to process first principles of space-time experience
- is able to design creative in relation to visual landscape observations
- is able to develop works experience values of the user
- is able to organize on various scale levels
- is able to process findings in a personal work and process book
- is able to explain project to fellow students
- is able to assimilate proposals from fellow students and supervising teachers

- is able to process the theoretical basic knowledge about the landscape walk

- is able to relate this basic knowledge to design
