Course Content

With the internationalization of study programs, more and more presentations are given in English. No matter how spectacular a project or its the findings, they only become relevant when they have been shared with others. A project is not finished until the results have been published or presented. In this course, we discuss general presentation techniques - e.g. how to use body language, the voice, and visual aids - and we give tips and hints on how to prepare and structure a presentation.

Course Objectives

The course 'Presentation Skills' is a course eminently suitable for students of all nationalities and specializations. This course focuses on various presentation skills. How do you prepare a presentation? How does it differ from a written paper? What are the consequences of this? And what do you have to watch out for when you are presenting in an international context? We also cover issues that are specific for presenting projects: - how to present tables and graphs, - how to organize the findings of different types of studies, - and how to deal with an international audience. We also become acquainted with specific presenting skills for television, in a television studio.
