The aim of the "Survival Dutch" course is to master the basics of the Dutch language, both written and spoken. Starting from everyday situations, you will learn the necessary grammar and vocabulary in order to function in a Dutch speaking environment.
The following topics are covered in this course:
1. Welkom (introduction to the course, troubleshooting in Dutch, meeting and greeting people)
2. Wie ben jij? (introducing oneself, occupation, countries and languages)
3. Allemaal mensen (asking questions and giving answers)
4. Famous Belgians (introducing other people, arts, sports and Leisure, Belgian celebrities)
5. Wat doe je? (activities, present tense)
6. Spellen... (spelling and pronunciation)
7. ... en tellen! (numbers)
8. Telefoon, e-mail en een beetje etiquette (making telephone calls, writing e-mails, politeness forms and expressions)
9. Familie en vrienden (family and friends, nouns, articles, possisives, negative sentences)
10. Wie is het? (looks, character and mood, adjectives, comparison, demonstratives)
11. Feest! (holidays and parties, days, months, years)
12. Afspreken (telling time, making, changing and canceling appointments, modal verbs, expressing reason)
13. Studeren aan EhB (school related vocabulary and expressions)
14. Een dag uit het leven van ... (daily activities, present tense (special cases), past tense, work and leisure)
15. Een pintje drinken en een hapje eten (food and beverage, going to bars and restaurants, Belgian specialities)
16. Shoppen (shops, at the supermarket, fashion shopping (clothes, colours, etc.)
17. Ik voel me niet goed (the human body, at the doctors)
18. Belgiƫ! (cities, asking and giving directions, traffic and transport)
19. Mijn huis (housing, prepositions)
20. Zomer in Belgiƫ, dat is feest in de stad! (events, wheather, holidays and a few good reasons to come back to Belgium for the summer)
